that was not fair! i mean, the recgonition deadline. anthony and i were on pal up in the air traveling to the philippines. well, i know that whether i met the deadline or not, i am always recognized by the two of you. so, how did you like laos, claire? isn't that country nice or what . . . i spent the best 10 years plus of my life there. and really grew up in that place, especially careerwise and meeting anthony's and jij's dad there. hey jij, did you go to the "talat" (market); did you take claire at the restaurant where we ate, that is overlooking the mighty mekong river? claire, how did you like the "continental breakfast - lao version" at the hotel? i hope you sampled everything in there. did you ride the elephant? how about them temples? if you're still in vientiane when you read this, please say hi to gina. by the way, i hope you bought some paksong coffee for stuart, that is, if he is a coffee drinker. anthony and i are enjoying the heat, sweat, dust and traffic, but good food and company here in the philippines. everybody says hi to both of you and all are expecting wedding invitations SOON! love ya! ! ! paisai next (where to next)?

Ms. Puring (that's how they address people around here...ms. or mr., I love it!!!)
I know, we should definitely be more considerate when setting deadlines...always be sure the parents have a chance to be recognized!! You are right, though, you most definitely are recognized by the two of us! We were actually just at the Philippine Embassy in Vientiane today to see the plaque and to visit with the consul. We will be posting a blog about that soon!!
I LOVE Laos! Such a beautiful country...laid back with some of the nicest people! We had a great time in Luang Prabang. Did we ever visit the Talat! Every day for several hours!! We had a great time barganing for gifts and such.
Asking whether my dad drinks coffee is like asking if you eat rice!!! I did, in fact, buy some Lao (Lao Mountain and Paksong) coffee for him. Thanks for giving away his christmas present :>
I can see why you love this place so much. We have enjoyed several stunning sunsets over the Mekong. Love the Novotel...yes the Continental Breakfast is amazing. Can't say I've sampled EVERYTHING they have to offer being that there is so much...but I hvae sampled alot of it! We actaully ended up staying at the Novotel for 3 nights!! Aren't we posh.
Well, keep enjoying your time in the Philippines. We are sadly leaving Laos tomorrow, we've put our departure off for long enough. We will say hello to Gian for you...she and the Novotel staff have been great!
